Horatio Alger Scholarship
To be eligible to apply for a Horatio Alger State Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Be enrolled full time as a high school senior in the United States; be progressing normally toward graduation in spring/summer of 2016 with plans to enter a college in the United States no later than the fall following graduation
Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution)
Demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required)
Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0; and
Be a United States citizen

AXA Achievement Scholarship
The AXA Achievement Scholarship is awarded to 52 students nationwide – one selected from each state, Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico. Each state winner receives a scholarship award of $10,000. From that pool of 52 winners, ten are selected as national winners and receive an additional $15,000, bringing the national AXA Achievers’ total scholarship awards to $25,000 each.
Bershire Hathaway Home Services GA Properties American Dream Scholarship
This $1,000 scholarship is offered to students who submit the most persuasive essay addressing the topic: Home ownership, the American Dream.
Buick Achievers Scholarship
If you have the passion to succeed – especially in fields of study related to science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) – the Buick Achievers Scholarship Program is looking for you. This year, we will award 50 renewable scholarships of up to $25,000 per year.* The application period will open January 4, 2016 and close at 5 p.m. EST on February 29, 2016.
Cargill Global Scholars
Applicants to the Cargill Global Scholars program must:
Be a citizen or permanent legal resident of Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Russia or the United States.
Attend a partner university in the country of citizenship or permanent legal residency
Be a first or second year university student
Demonstrate high academic performance
Demonstrate leadership potential
Preference will be given to applicants who:
Demonstrate financial need
Specialize in fields of study that are identified as preferred fields (see each country’s guidelines)
Are from a disadvantaged or underrepresented group within their country
Carson Scholars
The Carson Scholars Fund awards $1,000 college scholarships to students in grades 4-11 who excel academically and are dedicated to serving their communities. An interested student must be nominated by an educator at his or her school to be able to compete for a Carson Scholarship. Only one student from each school is able to apply, ensuring that each nominee epitomizes academic excellence. Carson Scholars must have a minimum GPA of 3.75 and display humanitarian qualities through community service. Scholarships are awarded solely on the basis of academic achievement and humanitarian qualities, without regard to financial need, ethnicity, creed or religion.
Coca Cola Scholarship
This is a highly competitive program and will require that you take the time to fully and accurately portray yourself. The information you collect for this scholarship application will help you present yourself for other scholarships and for your college admissions applications.
Each year we award $3 million in scholarships to talented students across the United States.
Elks Legacy Scholarship
Legacy Awards are $4,000 scholarships for children and grandchildren of Elks members. The Foundation will offer a total of up to 250 awards in the 2016 contest.
For the 2016 contest, any child or grandchild (or step-child, step-grandchild, or legal ward) of a living Elk who joined the order on or before April 1, 2013, or a charter member of a Lodge that was instituted on or after April 1, 2013, is eligible to apply. The Elk must also be a paid-up member through March 31, 2016. Great-grandchildren are not eligible.
The applicant must be a high school senior.
The applicant must apply online only. The 2016 Legacy Awards application deadline has passed.
If the applicant's parent and grandparent are both Elk members, the applicant must apply through the parent's Elks Lodge.
Applicants must take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) or the American College Test (ACT) by December 31, 2015.
Students may apply for more than one ENF scholarship; however, they may win only one. In cases where the student qualifies for more than one, we will award the scholarship with the greater value. Students can accept local and state scholarships, which are separate from the awards at the national level.
Legacy Awards may only be applied to accredited US American schools, colleges or universities. (Note: Applicants from Guam, Panama, Puerto Rico and the Philippines may apply Legacy Awards toward schools, colleges or universities in their respective homes.)
If you are selected as a 2016 Legacy Awards recipient, you will be required to perform service once a year with an Elks Lodge during the four years you are receiving the scholarship.
Elks MVP Scholarship
The Elks National Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest-rated applicants in the 2017 competition.
Any high school senior who is a citizen of the United States is eligible to apply.
Applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks.
College students are not eligible to apply.
Applicants must be citizens of the United States on the date their applications are signed; permanent legal resident status does not qualify.
Male and female students compete separately.
Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) Essay Contest
Honoring the legacy and character of our nation’s 40th President, the GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program rewards college-bound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship with financial assistance to pursue higher education.
Each year, the Program selects numerous recipients to receive a $10,000 scholarship renewable for up to an additional three years – up to $40,000 total per recipient. Awards are for undergraduate and graduate study, and may be used for education-related expenses, including tuition, fees, books, supplies, room, and board. In addition, Scholars are invited to participate in a special awards program.
Janice Scott Memorial Scholarship
The Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established to honor Mrs. Scott who was among the 125 individuals who perished in Pentagon during the attacks by terrorists on the morning of September 11, 2001. The foundation will issue between three and five $2,500 scholarships this year. These awards are one time awards. There are three documents you need for the Janice M. Scott Memorial Scholarship Fund Scholarship: The Application, the Criteria Sheet and the Check List. They are all word documents.
JCI Scholarship
Eligibility: Graduating high school seniors in the United States, where that state has an active JCI Senate program (see www.usjcisentate.org [under scholarship] for a listing of eligible states). You must be a U.S. citizen to apply for this scholarship.
Each year, the U.S. Junior Chamber International (JCI) Senate Foundation grants $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who plan to continue their education at accredited post-secondary colleges, universities or vocational schools. The number of grants awarded annually is at the discretion of the Foundation and must be used for educational expenses in the first year of full-time study. Checks awarded will be made out in the name of the recipient and the educational institution of the recipient's choice.
John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Essay Contest
The Profile in Courage Essay Contest invites United States high school students to consider the concept of political courage by writing an essay on a U.S. elected official who has chosen to do what is right, rather than what is expedient. A “Profile in Courage” essay is a carefully researched recounting of a story: the story of how an elected official risked his or her career to take a stand based on the dictates of the public good, rather than the dictates of polls, interest groups or even constituents. The contest challenges high school students to discover new profiles in courage, and to research and write about acts of political courage that occurred after the 1956 publication of John F. Kennedy's Profiles in Courage.
Kentucky Fried Chicken Scholarship
Applicants must be high school seniors who are enrolling in a public college or university within their state of residence and pursuing a bachelor's degree. They must also have a GPA of 2.75 or higher and demonstrate financial need. The award is up to $5,000 per year and renewable for up to four years. This $2,500 scholarship award will be awarded to the two students who submit the most persuasive essay addressing the question: How do you plan to avoid excess student loan debt?
National Multiple Sclerosis Society Scholarship
The National MS Society’s scholarship program helps highly qualified students who have been diagnosed with MS or who have a parent with MS achieve their dreams of going to college.
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
Current high school seniors, high school graduates (including students who have earned their GED certificate), or current undergraduate students of any age who have MS or have a parent with MS and will be attending, or are already currently attending, an accredited postsecondary school working toward their first undergraduate degree. (Applicants who applied in a previous year and were not selected for an award are not eligible to reapply to the 2016 National Multiple Sclerosis Society Scholarship Program. Previous recipients from any year are eligible to reapply to the 2016 National Multiple Sclerosis Society Scholarship Program.)
United States citizen or legal resident living in the United States, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam or any other U.S. territory.
Plan to enroll in an undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school located in the United States, Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam or any other U.S. territory for the 2016-17 academic year. (Students who are planning a mission trip, GAP year, or other experience and do not plan to enroll in college for the 2016-17 academic year should not apply now. Instead, plan to apply in the year you plan to enroll in college.)
Enroll in at least 6 credit hours per semester in coursework leading to a first-time degree, license or certificate

A $1,000 award offered to either a high school junior or senior who has volunteered working with animals.

Schering-Plough Will to Win Scholarship
Applicant must demonstrate outstanding performance in one of the following categories: performing arts, visual arts, community service, athletics, or science and have a documented track record of achievements relevant to entry category. Applicant must have received at least one award related to their entry category in addition to holding a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5. Enrollment in college for the fall term is required.

Wal-Mart Dependent Scholarship
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Legal Resident of the United States.
Must be the dependent of an associate (employee) of any division of Walmart who has been actively employed with Walmart for at least six consecutive months as of April 1, 2016. Dependents of Walmart Board of Directors and dependents of Walmart officers (Vice President and above) are not eligible to apply.
Must be a high school or home school senior graduating or earning a GED between August 1, 2015 and July 31, 2016.
Must have financial need and be able to demonstrate the need with required documents. (Note: Students with other funds that pay entirely for tuition, books, fees and on-campus room and board are ineligible.)
Washington Crossing Foundation Scholarship
We invite you to explore our web site, www.gwcf.org, which contains all of the information candidates should require to prepare and submit an application. Each interested student is invited to write a one-page essay stating why he or she plans a career in government service including any inspiration to be derived from the leadership of George Washington in his famous crossing of the Delaware. The student must confine the essay to viewpoint, attitude and purpose in choice of career.
Voice of Democracy
Since 1947, the Voice of Democracy has been the Veterans of Foreign Wars’ (VFW’s) premier scholarship program. Each year, almost 40,000 high school students compete for more than $2 million in scholarships and incentives. Students compete by writing and recording an audio essay on an annual patriotic theme. This year’s theme is, My Responsibility to America.
